Fostering a Love of Learning

Kids Running

Our Co-op

Cultivated

To cultivate means to improve the growth of something by labor and attention.  At CLS, we will give our labor and attention to improve the minds of our children, being attentive to them, laboring alongside them, and learning with them.  We will not spoon feed facts.  Instead, we will give our children something to think about, something to love, and something to do.  We will cultivate with nurture and care.  We are planting seeds.  our goal and our hope and our prayer is that great things will blossom from within our children.

Learning

To learn means to acquire knowledge through experience, study, or being taught.  Our goal is to give our students a lifelong love of learning.  The knowledge they obtain will come from reading powerful literature, conversing with teachings, engaging in hands-on activities, and encouraging one another.  "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." We desire to bring life to the classroom, sparking interest and guiding our children to a better understanding of the world around us.  Whatever is noble, true, and pure should be considered and appreciated, because it all comes from God.

Society

A society is an organization which is formed for a particular purpose.  Our particular purpose is to grow a God-honoring community in which students are encouraged to give their full efforts to the tasks which are set before them.  Our teachers should be passionate about the topics they are teaching so that their love for the subjects will trickle down to our children, sparking interest that may otherwise be hard to find.  We require parents and teachers alike to work together to cultivate an enriched, living society.  Let's work together to cultivate the next generation, to the glory of God.

Our Mission

To use our God-given abilities and knowledge to foster the natural love of learning in our children and in ourselves as we explore, create, and learn together, while striving for excellence in all we do.
